EAGLES NEST!

Well, I think I've defiantly found the best bar in Virginia. Granted, I've only been to one other bar but after another great night out with some of the boy and a few bull rides, its the only place I need. I just hate the fact that the group I hang out with is all in different duty sections so we don't all get to go out together very often, but hey that just means we gotta go out more often in little groups right? Between the beer, dancing, bull ridin (I'll eventually get better), corn hole and beer pong and a bunch of rowdy boys what more could you want?

End of March Madness

Well my boys didn't do as good as I wanted they made it all the way to the elite 8 and lost to Kansas it was a long road and disappointing ending but they did good they lost 3 players through the season and still made it as far as they did. They wont have Zeller next year but hopefully the other boys will stay and they'll try again next year:)

The Big 2-1

well the day was finally here I was finally 21, woke up and started my day with fire fighting school which is usually fun cause we get to fight fires but not today there was to many people so we just got the whole "death by power point" the navy loves so much. That also means that we got out early to, would have been real great if I didn't have duty and have to go back to the ship and stay til the next morning. Buying some time me and the boys all we out for lunch at Ihop, which was pretty fun, these are the type of guys no matter what your doing your gonna have a good time cause there goof balls. Then it was back to work as soon as I get there I'm put to work cleaning our spaces on the ship cause they haven't done it yet, bummer! OK so its the end of the day everyone that's not on duty can leave, that means hopefully ill be in bed by 6 cause i got to stand watch from 2-7 in the a.m. No such luck, right after supper i get the call that contractors need to work in our space and I have to sit with them and the great part about that is they don't get off til midnight, and I still gotta be armed up at 130.
    So need less to say I didn't have the birthday I had planed on but we made up for it the next day, it was Saturday but i first had to get some sleep the hour from the night before wasn't working. I got up about 2 and by 4 I was with a friend drinking vodka and mountain dew (i know sounds weird but try it its really good) getting ready to go out, some of the boys came over the rest met us at Red Robin where we decided to get supper. A friend of my also surprised me with a hotel room that was really close to the bar we were goin to so that i didn't have to worry bout me or anyone else getting home.
     The spot for the night was the eagles nest. I LOVE country music and had a good time. When we first got there i finished watching the game where Carolina blew duke outta the water and celebrated with a shot of patron! I don't really remember a whole lot after the first hour, just bits and pieces every now and then. But we had a blast from riding the bull to doing stupid dances it was amazing.
      And all thanks to my friends here in Norfolk, because of work I wasn't able to go home and celebrate with my friends and family, but these guys here did more than make up for it:)

RECAP THE SEASON

Well it's almost my favorite time of the year MARCH MADNESS! so lets do what I love and recap the season, well the games I got to watch anyways, being here in Virginia not all the games come on tv add that with being on duty every 4 days puts me on watch and unable to watch the games a lot sadly. I wanna start by saying I think Carolina is the best basketball team there is. The tar heels are currently ranked #7 in the nation 22-4 season, 9-2 ACC, with 5 games left in the regular season.
  Lets go back:
      15 Nov: vs MSU W67-55 - great start to the season
      Carolina participates in the Los Vegas inviational playing MVSU, TNSU, SCGC, and lost in the finals to UNLV 90-80, something Carolina was not prepared for, you haven't heard anything out of the rebels and then here they come out of no where with a 6-0 record and a fire Carolina wasn't ready for.
      30 Nov- Carolina wins to Wisconsin 60-57
      03 Dec- a big upset for the Tar heels, there was 16 seconds left in the game and Barnes has the ball, he wants to play it smart hold on the the ball and make the basket near the end that way Kentucky cant get the ball back and score well he let the clock go a little to long and did leave time in case there was a needed rebound, he went up for the basket and Kentucky knocked it away to beat the heels 73-72.
       For the next month Carolina went on to win every game they played, which is good for there record but they played teams such as Appalachian and Long Beach State and a few others that where really easy for the heels and there bench guys got a lot of well needed playing time. But because these teams where so easy the Tar heels had no need for an upscale defense, don't get me wrong they had a good enough defense for the teams they played but it didn't prepare them for what happened next...
      14 Jan- A few games in the conference and Florida St. comes out of know where and reminds Carolina of what its like to be on the losing end, I didn't get to watch this game cause I was on duty but I do know Carolina lost 90-57, and it seemed Carolina took that beating and learned from it until last Wednesday.
      08 Feb- Duke. Carolina and duke have the biggest rivalry in college basketball (if you look at the states Carolina is better than Duke in every catagory), but with the help of there new freshman, son to the Boston Celtics head coach, Austin Rivers. Carolina was up by 10 with 2 min left and something happened, i don't know what, but Carolina proceded to only score 2 point in that time and lose to duke 85-84, as Rivers made a successful buzzer 3 pointer while Zeller, who was supposed to be guarding him, stood there with his hands down, very disappointing.
       The Tar heels have since won there last two games again UVA and Miami lets just hope they can finish out the season on a good note and when they go against Duke again in the last regular season game March 3rd, Carolina will be ready to bring home the big W.

EMPTINESS

The rain on the screen reminds me of the darkness of today. The day when the one you love most in the world is gone. You know it was for the best, you know it ended the pain and suffering for them, but what about you? What about the emptiness they left behind? The emptiness you live with day to day. You try and hide it on the outside, be happy cheerful and full of excitement, but when alone the emptiness overwhelms you and you don't  know how to go on. There is nothing to do but sit and weep and try and remember the good times. For some reason that never happens the last few months, the pain, the suffering and fear of what could get worse always creeps its way to the surface. Does it ever go away? As the years go past does it get any easier? and if so could it hurry!
